modern Peerage law would consider any writ issued to him as creating a Barony in fee de novo of date 1641/61 but, unusually, allowed a precedency of 1392; the only record of him sitting in Parliament is on 8 May 1661

 

On the death of the 1st Baron Bergavenny the Barony of Bergavenny became extinct.
