A cut-out plate representing the arms, which are: Quarterly: 1st and 4th, Azure semy-de-lis a

Lion rampant Or (Beaumont); 2nd and 3rd, Azure three Garbs Or (Comyn), with a gold helm

covered with a blue mantling sown with gold fleurs-de-lis and lined ermine. The crest is: on

a Cap of Estate Azure semy-de-lis Or turned up Ermine a Lion passant of the second. The

arms of Comyn came into the Beaumont family through the marriage of the 1st Baron

Beaumont with Alice Comyn.

The Barony of Beaumont was held by the Viscounts of Beaumont from 12 Feb 1440 until 19 Dec 1507, when on the death without issue of William [Beaumont], 2nd Viscount Beaumont, 7th Baron Beaumont, etc., the Viscountcy of Beaumont became extinct and the Barony of Beaumont fell into abeyance between the two daughters (Joan, Lady Stapleton, and Frideswide, Lady Norris) of his only sister, Joan, Lady Lovel, and their descendants.  On 17 May 1536 Sir Henry Norris, the only surviving son of Frideswide, Lady Norris, was attainted and beheaded on a charge of adultery with Queen Anne Boleyn, when the moiety of the Barony of Beaumont he held was forfeited to the Crown. The other moiety passed down through the family of Stapleton and on 16 Oct 1840 the Barony of Beaumont was called out of abeyance in favour of
