Garter Stall Plate of Edward [Cherleton], 5th Baron Cherleton, KG

A small quadrangular plate, all gilt, with a shield of arms, Or a Lion rampant Gules, and

a gold helm with a parti-coloured mantling, red on the left side and black on the right, with

gold sprays and ermine lining. The crest, which rises from a large black and red torse, is

two Lion's Gambs embowed Gules each having on the outer side three Fleurs-de-lis Argent.

On the death of the 5th Baron Cherleton the Barony of Cherleton fell into abeyance between his two daughters and their descendants.
