joined in the rebellion of the Duke of Albany against James III, King of Scotland, and was attainted by Parliament 24 Feb 1483/4

 

On the attainder of the 3rd Lord Crichton the Lordship of Crichton became forfeited and reverted to the Crown. His great-great-great-grandson, James Crichton, was created Lord Crichton and Viscount of Frendraught on 29 Aug 1642.
