The Egerton baronetcy was held by the 1st Baron Grey de Wilton (later 1st Earl of Wilton) from 15 May 1784 until his death on 23 Sep 1814, when the Barony of Grey de Wilton became extinct, the Earldom of Wilton passed to his grandson, and the Egerton baronetcy passed to his fourth cousin, John Egerton, of Oulton, co.
