Quarterly:  1st and 4th, Argent on a Bend Sable three Roses of the field barbed and seeded proper (Cary);  2nd, Sable two Bars nebuly Ermine (Spencer of Spencercombe);  4th, France and England quarterly with a Bordure company Argent and Azure (Beaufort); a Crescent surmounted with a Mullet for difference

Crest:

A Swan wings elevated Argent, beaked and legged Gules, a Crescent surmounted with a Mullet also Gules for difference

On the death of the 2nd Earl of Monmouth both his titles became extinct. His great-nephew, Charles [Mordaunt], 2nd Viscount Mordaunt, was created Earl of Monmouth on 9 Apr 1689.
