On his death the Barony of de Ros fell into abeyance between his three sisters:  Eleanor, Lady Manners;  Isabel, Lady Everingham later Lady Grey later Lady Lovel;  and Margaret.  After the two younger sisters had died without issue, the barony was called out of abeyance in favour of his nephew and sole remaining heir

On his death the Dukedom of Buckingham became extinct and the Barony of Ros fell into abeyance between the descendants of his two great aunts, Lady Bridget Tyrwhit and Lady Frances Willoughby, Lady Willoughby of Parham, sisters of Francis Manners, 6th Earl of Rutland and 18th Baron de Ros.  The abeyance was terminated 9 May 1806 in favour of the youngest coheiress, who only represented a quarter of the Barony as the youngest of the two coheiresses of Lady Frances Willoughby.  The other coheir of Lady Frances was George [Capell], 5th Earl of Essex, while the sole heir to Lady Bridget Tyrwhit was Sir Thomas Windsor Hunloke, 5th Bt., who represented a whole moiety, or half, of the Barony.

On her death the Barony of de Ros fell into abeyance between her three daughters:  Lady Una Mary Ross, Lady Maude Elizabeth Dawson, and Lady Eleanor Charlotte Augusta Szanto later Ali.  In May 1943 the abeyance was terminated in favour of the eldest daughter:

On her death the Barony of de Ros fell into abeyance between her two grand daughters, Georgiana Angela Ross and Rosemary Ross, the only children of her elder son Lt Cmdr Hon Peter Ross RN, who was killed in action in October 1940.  The abeyance was terminated in 1958 in favour of the eldest grand-daughter:
