The Queen, taking into Her Royal consideration, that upon the decease of Thomas, second Baron Denman, without issue, which happened on the 9th day of August, 1894, the dignity of Baron Denman devolved upon Thomas, now Baron Denman, as the eldest son of Richard Denman, Esquire, who was the son and heir of Richard Denman, Esquire (commonly called the Honourable Richard Denman), who whilst living was next surviving brother and heir presumptive of the said Thomas, second and last Baron Denman, whereby, according to the ordinary rules of honour, the brother and sister of the said Thomas, now Baron Denman, cannot enjoy that title, rank, place, and precedence which would have been due to them had their father, the said Richard Denman, survived his uncle, the said Thomas, last Baron Denman, and thereby succeeded to the title and dignity of Baron Denman, Her Majesty has been graciously pleased to ordain and declare that Richard Douglas Denman, Esquire, and Anna Maria Heywood, wife of John Emmott Barlow, Esquire, the brother and sister of the said Thomas, now Baron Denman, shall henceforth have, hold, and enjoy the same title, place, pre-eminence, and precedence as if their father, the said Richard Denman, had survived his uncle, the said Thomas, second Baron Denman, and thereby succeeded to the dignity of Baron Denman.
