On the death of Earl Howe the Irish Viscountcy of Howe and the Barony of Glenawly, which he had inherited from his elder brother, the Viscountcy and Earldom of Howe created respectively in 1782 and 1788 became extinct, and the Barony of Howe also created in 1788 passed to his eldest daughter,
