The Earldom of Mulgrave was held by the Marquesses of Normanby (Dukes of Buckingham and Normanby from 23 Mar 1702/3) from 10 May 1694 until 30 Oct 1735 when on the death of Edmund [Sheffield], 2nd Duke of Buckingham and Normanby, 4th Earl of Mulgrave, etc. without a male heir all his peerage titles became extinct.
