Editor's Note: The Complete Baronetage (Vol II, p.260) says: "The origin of the family has been obscured by Betham having attributed to them the arms of a totally different family, that of Osborne of Dublin, which arms now appear in all the Baronetages. The arms, however, used by them on seals, certainly as old as the Baronetcy, are: Quarterly Argent and Azure a Cross engrailed Or in the first and fourth quarters an Ermine Spot Sable."
