9 Oct 1714 Baron Throwley, of Throwley in the County of Kent, Viscount Sondes, of Lees Court in the County of Kent, and Earl of Rockingham


The Barony of Rockingham was held by the Earls of Rockingham from 9 Oct 1714 until 26 Feb 1745/6, when on the death of Thomas [Watson], 3rd Earl of Rockingham, 5th Baron Rockingham, etc., the Earldom of Rockingham and the other titles created in 1714 became extinct and the Barony of Rockingham passed to his cousin, Thomas [Watson-Wentworth], 1st Earl of Malton. He was created Marquess of Rockingham on 19 Apr 1746 and the Barony of Rockingham remained with the Marquesses of Rockingham until 1 Jul 1782, when on the death of Charles [Watson-Wentworth], 2nd Marquess of Rockingham, 7th Baron Rockingham, etc., it and all his other titles became extinct.
