The Barony of Stafford was held by the Earls of Stafford from 5 Mar 1351 to 14 Sep 1444, when the 6th Earl of Stafford was created Duke of Buckingham, and by the Dukes of Buckingham from 14 Sep 1444 until 13 May 1521, when on the attainder of the 3rd Duke of Buckingham all his property and titles were forfeited to the Crown.
