On the death of the 1st Marquess of Breadalbane the Marquessate of Breadalbane and the other United Kingdom titles created in 1873 and 1885 became extinct, and he was succeeded in the Earldom of Breadalbane and Holland and his other Scottish titles by his nephew, Ian Edward Herbert Campbell, who succeeded as 8th Earl of Breadalbane and Holland.
