Member of Parliament (Tory) for Eye 1799-1806 and 1807; took the name of Mann in lieu of Cornwallis by Royal Licence 1814 on the death of his maternal uncle Sir Horace Mann, 1st Bt.

 

On the death of the 5th Earl Cornwallis all his titles became extinct.  In 1927 the Barony of Cornwallis was created afresh for his great-grandson, Col Fiennes Cornwallis CBE.
