The Viscountcy of Dudley and Ward was held by the 1st Earl of Dudley, who was unmarried, from 5 Oct 1827 until his death on 6 Mar 1833, when the Earldom of Dudley and the two Viscountcies of Dudley and Ward and of Ednam became extinct and the Barony of Ward passed to his second cousin, William Humble Ward, as the next heir male of the body of the 1st Baron Ward.
