On the death of the 1st Earl Wandesford the Earldom of Wandesford and the other Irish peerages inherited from his father, together with the English Baronetcy, became extinct. The fourth son of Anne, Countess of Ormonde, inherited his mother's estates and assumed the name of Wandesford.
